I know this will come as a shocker, but video for real estate is a pretty hot commodity! With so many low-cost cameras (like the Flip) and video editing tools available to agents and brokers, video can be easily integrated into most real estate blogs and website platforms. There are a couple of real estate brokers and mortgage brokers who really get video and know how to use it very effectively. I highly recommend everyone checkout:
This is a commonly asked question among real estate agents and brokerages. Social media sites are great tools to grow your SOI (sphere of influence), to connect, show value, and get to know others in your community. Notice I never mentioned offering your services. Be guilty of that and you’ll develop a less than favorable reputation in the community. You’ll be marked with the scarlet “S” as a “spammer”! Unfortunately, it’s happening all too often-asking for business on social media sites.
Welcome to the Big Cocktail Party Called Social Media!
What a privilege it was to be invited on the Tamara Dorris Blog Talk Radio Show on Wednesday, March 24th. Over the next 2 post I will share with you my notes from Tamara’s show. I thought it would be helpful for you to have access to this Neighborhood Marketing Plan for your little corner of the world.
While it’s awesome to get those great keywords like city name real estate (example-Dallas real estate), too many real estate agents overlook neighborhood keywords (long-tail searches). And the reality is that people who are searching with those neighborhood-centric keywords actually make stronger, more qualified consumers. Why? Someone searching for “Dallas real estate” is just browsing (tire-kickers) in broad generalities while someone searching for homes for sale in the Dallas neighborhood of Preston Hollow are looking for - well, homes for sale in Preston Hollow. There’s a strong probability they may be 30-60 days out instead of 18 months.
If a RE Pro will provide this unique, SEO keyword-rich indexable content it will offer so much search power for the site owner
You have to know we are all about real estate marketing here at Dakno. I even commented to Tamara Dorris on her Blog Talk Radio Show that “if my eyes are open, I’m marketing“! One of the really cool ideas Brad (@dakno) came up with was to brand everything that stands still. With that said, we slapped some skin on our laptops, iPhones and Flips. Good thing my grand kids are so active or else they would have an extra “layer of skinon them“.
Often described as public Instant Messenger on steroids, Twitter is micro-blogging in 140 characters. Common “Tweets” include pithy comments, mundane babbling to high-value information and content distribution. The point of Twitter is to be personal and build relationships! Remember, that’s what social media is all about and Twitter is most certainly that - social. If you haven’t heard of Twitter, you been spending too much time under that rock of yours. It’s one of the fastest growing social communities (period!).
While returning from the REtech South Conference event Saturday morning I was reflecting on Friday’s sessions. I’m convinced there are a handful of questions we will never fully agree on that are often brought up during these conferences. Some issues will continue to be debated and cause many in the real estate industry to ponder for themselves.
Asking Questions and Drilling Deeper is a Good Thing!

At this special live webcast event you will learn how to ignite your blogging efforts by implementing tips delivered by Brad and myself as we teach you how to:
Take a look at most real estate websites. When you do find meaningful web copy, many times it’s a struggle to read. It’s like a “War and Peace” novel with forever scrolling content. The sheer thought of it sends me searching for the back-button. Have I written terribly long articles in the past? Yes, but no more. Plus, most real estate web sites fail to use proper sub headlines (designated with a Headline tag-H3) to help tease the site visitor to what the paragraph will say.
